Kebbi State, created in 1991 with Birnin Kebbi as its capital, lies in north-western Nigeria bordering Niger Republic and Benin. Led by Governor Nasir Idris, it spans 21 local government areas. Its geology combines Sokoto-Rima basin sediments and Precambrian basement rocks, offering solid minerals potential alongside a largely agriculture-led economy.
